In Myrinisia the mersquitoes don't bite anybody. Their long proboscis[es] are used to feed on the nectar of deep sea bloodflowers. They are notorious gossips but not the best listeners so as they spread their news the messages sometimes get bent and botched along the way 'telephone game' style. So if you find a mersquito buzzing in your ear, only believe about half of what they say!
